Director of Tourism Glenn Holm has been invited to attend an award
ceremony on July 20th during which Travel+Leisure Magazine will recognize
the island. Holm said that he is not yet sure what award the island will
be receiving, but it will undoubtedly be prestigious given the type of
ceremony planned for "2006 World's Best Awards." Commissioner for Tourism
Will Johnson will also be attending.
Holm received a very fancy key chain with a metal business card invitation
attached that announces he is personally invited by Nancy Novogrod,
Editor-in-Chief, for an intimate dinner at the restaurant called "Top of
the Rock" located in the Rockefeller Center in Manhattan.
Holm, who is captain of the Saba Chippie Challenge team, will be leaving
for the United States from Curaçao, the second stage of the seven-stage
elimination contest, and joked that he will have to pack his good suit
along with his Chippie Challenge t-shirt.
